Our urban planning laboratory is based on Kanazawa University's Kakuma campus, in the School of Nature, Science and Technology, in Ishikawa, Japan.  Our members are primarily students majoring in Environmental Design, undertaking research to understand and improve urban planning practices on international, national, regional and sub-regional scales.

The lab consists of Undergraduate, Master and Doctoral students, including short- and long-term students from abroad.  We have strong connections with a wide range of researchers based in other Asian and Southeast- Asian countries, particularly China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as ties to countries further afar, with past and present students from Australasia and Europe.

In addition to our research, we also collaborate with the International Review on Spatial Planning and Sustainable Design publication and host annual workshops and occasional other events related to Urban Planning.
